IF YOU’RE A RECTANGLE - I Shape

Guess what! You have the most common body type in North America. It seems that over 45% of American women have a straight silhouette.

YOUR GOAL: CREATE CURVES AND THAT SPECIAL WAIST EFFECT

LET’S IDENTIFY THIS BODY TYPE: 

  • Your hips and bust are balanced
  • Your waist is not well defined
  • You probably have a bottom that is more straight than round
  • You tend to gain weight in your torso first and then
  • Your upper thighs and arms
  • Your lower legs are always shapely and one of your best assets

 

The key is to proportionally dress the top and bottom of your body while enhancing your waist. You have two possible strategies, you can wear form-fitting clothing, such as a tube-type dress or a waist tied cover-up) and create a waist by adding a wide, dark belt. However, to create a more curvaceous effect add volume or the illusion of volume, proportionally to your upper and lower body by mixing and matching top and bottom.

Rachel, our US stylist recommends:
“Remember that one of your great assets are your
legs! Higher leg openings suit you perfectly. They
give you a beautiful curve on the leg opening that
makes you appear longer, and it creates a nice
shape around the hip and bottom.”

 

TIPS TO PICK YOUR PERFECT RIVIERA COCO BIKINI:  

  • Wide-set straps and V necks tops give a wider optical effect to your shoulders. Pick a padded or push-up top to add curves to your upper body
  • Moderate to full coverage bottoms. With more fabric, you give more presence to your hips
  • Go for ruffles and flounces to add curves and volume. Play also with embellished, patterned or padded pieces. Flounces on top and a cute side tide bottom can work well together
  • If you like the style you can pick skirted bottoms
  • Horizontally striped bikinis are always great on you!
  • Choose bottoms with ties or hip embellishments to add the illusion of curves
  • Pick bottoms with mid to low rise waist that cuts straight across your hips
  • Shining or velvet fabric can be good bikini choices

 

LET’S TALK ABOUT MONOKINIS AND TANKINIS:

  • Pick the ones with ruffles decoration or patterns on top and bottom of the silhouette.
  • Crisscross fronts X shaped fronts will also give you the illusion of curves.
  • Choose one-pieces with dark-colored waist or trikini styles, where you show some skin on both sides of your waist. Pick strategically placed cut-outs to draw extra attention to the waist.
